101st Bento Bite - Featuring Garden Spuds

Here is bento 101:

Contents:

A word about the spuds: I dug them out of the ground a few days ago so that I could get ready to plant my veggie garden for this year. This is what I would call procrastination at its best!

Oh, and I made a little flower out of sliced almonds and a bit of raisin:

That's all.

Happy bento!

Humble Hundred

I hope this isn't too much of a let-down. I had hoped to do something really special for my 100th bento. But bentos have become so second-nature to me that I couldn't wait until a more convenient time to create #100. In fact, today I packed two bentos, and didn't have time for anything overly elaborate.

Lunch bento, #99:
Contains:

I would like to highlight the delicious pasta salad made especially for me by my mom-in-law:

Yum!

And dinner bento, humble #100:

Contains:
  • salad
  • Mexican-style Rice-a-roni
  • tomato slices
  • salsa
  • (I added a few tortilla chip crumbles for crunch)
It was a long day between work, a meeting and then rehearsal. So now I'm going to head for bed.

Happy bento!

Back to Work

After a wonderfully relaxing spring break, it was time to go back to work today. I packed myself this bento to take along with me:

Fruits:

  • kiwi
  • banana
  • raisins
Veggies:
  • lettuce
  • tomato
  • carrot
And the main dish... mujaddarra! Yum.

Home from the Caribbean!

Hello! I am happy to report that my husband and I are home safely from our cruise. We had a wonderful time! What with the eating...

And drinking (just a little)...

And the fun food events like fruit and veggie carving...

It was absolutely a blast!

So, thank you all for your patience... I will be resuming regular blogging very soon. In the meantime, if you would like to look at some delicious cakes... take a look at what the Daring Bakers were doing while I was gone.
