Slow Cookin' Goodness

I confess, I love my crock pot.

Whether I'm fixing a roast and potatoes...

or just turning simple ingredients into a simmering soup...

I just can't go wrong.

What is your favorite thing to slow cook?

A nice pork butt with beer, garlic, salt, pepper, red peppers, onions and a bit of hot sauce

Lots and lots of Corned Beef for St. Pat's Day. Use a quality beer for the liquid, but don't use it for gravy (ick).

We make Colcannon to go with, but you can always put your potatoes and cabbage wedges in the Crocker if it's a large one. Can't wait for the CB to go on sale!

Second best year round is the Pork Butt. We hit it with a bottle of BBQ sauce and a touch of liquid smoke, maybe a sliced onion. Nothing fancey -- but cook the daylights out of it until it shreds and falls apart to serve on soft rolls. Tater tots anyone?

I'd love to hear a good soup recipe! All mine come out kind of bland :(

I love my crock pot too. My favorite thing in it is beef stew, nothing like a hearty beef stew on a cold day!
