I Propose: Lunch

Hi everyone! I have not one, but two bentos for you today. Get ready for bentos #42 and 43...

I woke up this morning, realized it was the 5th of December, and set to work making a special lunch for my hubby. Today is a special day for us, because exactly three years ago he proposed to me. Here you can see I have cut a message out of cheese for him:

It wasn't until I was actually photographing his finished bento (complete with brownies and bread with heart shapes in them)...

...that I realized the answer to a proposal is "Yes!" and not, "I do!" Oh well, it was too late to do anything about that. The clock was ticking and I still had to pack something for me to eat for lunch.

My lunch contains:

  • a spaghetti cup
  • lots of sourdough bread (wait, is that a piece of rye in there? no, it's...)
  • little heart-shaped brownie
  • heart-shaped turkey sandwich
  • the last little roma tomato from my garden
  • more tri-tip steak

Thanks for reading!

Don't worry about getting the words backwards. When I eloped with my husband, I couldn't remember what the words were (I do) so I said "Yes. Sure." ;-)

Inspired: thanks for the well wishes.

Cooks with Passion: that's funny that you forgot your lines during your wedding. It must have all turned out alright.

Glad you all liked it. Bryan did too. :0) Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

I was going to say, I've seen in movies or even in real life, women get so excited (I WOULD/WILL TOO!) they say the "wrong" thing... like saying I DO instead of yes :) It's cute and endearing... awwww. so special, what a lucky guy :)
