Little Chick

Here is lunch for tomorrow, bento #15:

It is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, with carrots and raisins forming a flower on top. More carrots peices, some almonds, Wheatables, white cake with blueberry topping and a boiled egg cut into the shape of a chick. The chick has a carrot beak and mustard seed eyes.

Goodnight!

It was very tasty... but turned out to be a mistake to have roughly a fourth of my lunch be dessert. ;0) By the time I got home I was more than ready for a snack!

Mer - you're getting really good at this! :) This lunch looks yummy.

Thanks for the comment on my post yesterday! Have you ever tried vegan cheeses?

The "dairy free" cheeses I've seen usually have casein in them - which is a milk protein I am alergic to. They use it to make the cheese stretch and melt, etc. You know, act like cheese!

What type of "vegan cheeses" do you mean, exactly?

Mmm...I don't remember the brand names, but I'm pretty sure I've seen some without casein - truly vegan ones. Next time I'm at that store I'll check!

I actually own that cookbook. The few "cheeses" I've gotten around to making do taste good. But it isn't convenience food, by any means. I have to make a special trip to the store for ingredients, and then I'm the only one that eats it -- so I have to be pretty motivated to make it happen.

Thanks for the tip though, and I would recommend the book to other non-milkies out there.
